Basak, (pronounced Bashak), is passionate about helping children reach their potential. After completing her Psychology Degree in Turkey, she moved to the USA to take up a pre-doctoral fellowship from the Yale University Child Study Center. It was there that her love and fascination for children was ignited.
She held this feeling as she returned to live and work in Turkey. She dreamed of opening a preschool, and in 2003 she turned her dream into reality. Başak ran her inclusive preschool in Istanbul for 14 years. She gained much joy and learning from each and every child and parent she met. But it was one child, and his mother, who changed the path of her life, when they introduced her to the Anat Baniel Method, NeuroMovement. She is now a qualified practitioner working with adults, and is also completing her Children's Mastery Training.
Basak sold her beloved preschool in early 2017 and moved her family to Australia to settle in Melbourne. Here she has joined with fellow pioneer of NeuroMovement in Australia, Sonia Maginnity, in order to create new possibilities through NeuroMovement together.
