Colleen has specialist training in couple and relationship therapy and is passionate about working with couples. As an impartial and caring third party in the therapy room she facilitates bringing difficult issues into an open, safe and supportive environment.

As a psychotherapist Colleen provides a space for people to discuss, understand and resolve problematic life issues.

She’s trained in Emotion Focused Therapy (an evidence based practice using systemic, attachment & humanistic theories) and also draws from other practical, skills-based resources such as the Gottman Institute’s methods.

Colleen views a healthy relationship as one where individuals are mutually supportive of one another, can grow together and create their own unique and great partnership.

The harmony most seek in a relationship often gets impacted by work commitments, financial pressures, cultural or family expectations and parenting responsibilities. Personal difficulties such as grief and loss, life traumas and the challenges of different stages of life also affect balance and wellbeing. Colleen can help raise awareness of how to stay close and connected and provide tools to help weather the inevitable challenges.

An online couple questionnaire is often recommended via the Gottman Institute which highlights the strengths in a couple’s relationship and also the areas needing improvement. The assessment is a valuable resource in the therapy process.

With willingness and effort from both partners and supportive therapeutic guidance, the couple can repair, refresh and build a stronger bond.

Colleen works with couples who:
